Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP with the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she was able to begin gaining attention. Shea Butter Baby, her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music on the internet in 2012, when she released her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Her uploads continued music on the internet in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out on 21 July 2015. J. Cole, who was a part of the Dreamville crew at the time and wanted her to work on Rihanna reference. On December 8th, that she'd signed with Dreamville Records. In the album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat, along with Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change in 2017 and also as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. She was also featured on the track Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out October 5, 2018, with a music video. She dropped her follow-up single for Grampa on November 9. On November 13 two new singles titled No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single the 26th of February in 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole on Creed II's sound track. Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. On February 20, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It already has 3 million hits on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
